Terms & Conditions

Unless otherwise specifically agreed in writing, all brollybucket Hires and Sales are subject to the following terms and conditions, a copy of which can be provided upon request.

Please note also the additional explanations given in the ‘Our Service’ section on the website.

1. Definitions

1.1  Brollybucket is the business entity which hires and sells the items offered here.

1.2  The Hirer is the person or entity which hires items offered here by brollybucket

1.3  The Buyer is the person or entity which buys items offered here by brollybucket

1.4  The Order Acknowledgement and Acceptance is the standard  contractual document issued by brollybucket

1.5  References to the singular shall also be understood to mean the plural, and vice versa

2. Ownership

2.1  In the case of a Hire from Brollybucket, all items hired remain the property of Brollybucket.

2.2  In the case of a Sale from Brollybucket, title to the items purchased only passes to the purchaser when payment in full has been received by brollybucket.

3. Availability

3.1  All items offered for Hire or Sale are subject to availability.

3.2  No commitment concerning availability is given until brollybucket sends an Order Confirmation Email which also covers the details of delivery and collection to the customer.

4. General Terms of Hire

4.1  All brollybucket umbrellas and blankets are quality checked before being dispatched and will meet the high standard of quality and condition that brollybucket has set.

4.2  Any issues concerning the condition, completeness or correctness of items supplied, which are notified to brollybucket by the Hirer when they are received, will be dealt with as much as is possible within the known timescales, and rectified where possible. No guarantee can be possible, however, and any refund will be at the sole discretion of brollybucket. Please note, we cannot refund your hire charges in the event you umbrellas are not used at your event.

4.3  The condition of all umbrellas is checked when they are returned to brollybucket and any umbrellas which are considered to have been damaged or soiled, to the extent that they cannot reasonably be cleaned or repaired, will be subject to a charge of x1 of the original hire price per hired item (see table below).

The condition of all blankets, fleeces, hay bale covers or cushions is checked when they are returned to brollybucket and any blankets, fleeces, hay bale covers or cushions which are considered to have been damaged, or soiled, to the extent that they cannot reasonably be cleaned or repaired, will be subject to a charge of x1 the original hire price per hired item (see table below).

The condition of all crates and baskets is checked when they are returned to brollybucket and any baskets and crates which are considered to have been damaged, or soiled, to the extent that they cannot reasonably be cleaned or repaired, will be subject to a charge of x1 the original hire price per hired item (see table below).

4.4  Any umbrellas not returned to brollybucket will be considered as lost and will be subject to a charge of x1 of the original hire price per hired item (see table below).

Any buckets or willow umbrella stands not returned to brollybucket will be considered as lost and will be subject to a charge of x1 the original hire price per hired item (see table below).

Any blankets, fleeces, hay bale covers or cushions not returned to brollybucket will be considered as lost and will be subject to a charge of x1 the original hire price per hired item (see table below).

Any crates or baskets not returned to brollybucket will be considered as lost and will be subject to a charge of x1 the original hire price per hired item (see table below).

4.5  Any items initially not returned and charged as lost, but which are subsequently returned in good condition to brollybucket, will normally have that charge refunded.  It is, however, at the sole discretion of brollybucket whether to refund or not.

4.6  All Hires will be charged at the time of order placement (through the website checkout section or otherwise). Should brollybucket not be able to fulfil your requested order, alternatives may be proposed to you. However, should those alternatives not be acceptable to you, or if no alternatives can be proposed to you, brollybucket will immediately refund your payment in full.

4.7  In case the Hirer wishes to amend the scope of an order (items’ number / type / colour etc.), brollybucket will use its’ best endeavours to accommodate such requests, and will notify the Hirer of the cost changes.

4.8  No commitment concerning prices is given until brollybucket sends the relevant Order Confirmation Email to the customer.

4.9  The Hirer can decide to buy and keep any items he has hired. These items will be charged at the rates applying to items lost or damaged. The Hirer must notify brollybucket immediately that this option is being taken, and must still accept all charges for collection, as originally arranged.

5.     Delivery And Collection

5.1  The hired items will be delivered either by a Brollybucket representative or by trackable courier service directly to your home or venue, whichever is more convenient. 

5.2  The operating terms of the courier service used will apply, and details of those terms can be provided upon request. Normally a signature is required. 

5.3  Deliveries are scheduled to arrive three working days before your event date. Exact dates will be confirmed on the Brollybucket Order Confirmation Email. 

5.4  When returning items, the Hirer must ensure the packaging box is resealed securely.

5.5  The items will be collected either by a Brollybucket representative or by courier from the location that the Hirer specifies when ordering.  This collection will be scheduled to occur within two working days after your event ends. Exact dates will be confirmed on the Brollybucket Order Confirmation e-mail.

5.6  Failure on the part of the Hirer to effect the collection at the agreed place and time on the agreed date, will normally result in additional courier charges being due by the Hirer as well as additional hire charges or charges for lost items (see Clause 4.4 above)

5.7  Any changes to confirmed dates for delivery or collection of items are subject to the agreement  of brollybucket, who will try to accommodate such requests, but who is not bound to agree. Any costs which would arise from such a change will be advised to the Hirer, who must accept them before the change is confirmed.

6. Cancellations

6.1  Orders can be cancelled. However :

6.1.1  In the case of any orders cancelled 15 days or more from the event date, brollybucket will refund to the Hirer the original payment minus a £10 administration fee.

6.1.2  In the case of orders cancelled within 14 days of the event date no refund is possible.

6.2  In the case of Sales, cancellation of an order after the date of the order will not entitle the Buyer to any refund, unless agreed by brollybucket in exceptional circumstances.

6.3   In the case of cancellations due to COVID, if government restrictions (locally or nationally) are in place during your event date we will offer a full refund or reschedule if we have availability for your new event date. 

If your event is cancelled due to COVID illness or impact of COVID but there is no government restrictions in place (locally or nationally) our usual terms of cancellation apply and no refund will be due within 14 days of your event date.

7.     Invoicing and payments

7.1 Brollybucket can accept payment through the website payment system (shopify) using :

  • Mastercard Debit/Credit/Pre-Pay
  • Maestro Debit Card
  • VISA Electron
  • VISA Credit Card
  • VISA DELTA Debit Card

Other forms of payment may be agreed with brollybucket outwith the website payment system, at the discretion of brollybucket.

7.2 Brollybucket can send a receipted invoice for an order, upon request.

8.     Responsibilities of the Hirer

8.1  Irrespective of the period of hire, the Hirer takes responsibility for the care of the umbrellas and other items – from being lost, damaged or stolen – starting from the time the items are signed for at delivery, and ending when the items have been collected from the nominated address.

8.2  To check at the earliest possible opportunity the items supplied for completeness, correctness and condition, and to notify the Hirer immediately about any issues arising.

8.3  The umbrellas and other items should be returned as dry as possible, in the delivery packaging.

8.4  If umbrellas or other items are lost, stolen or damaged, please indicate the number being returned on the outside of the box (box contents label) or by including a note inside the box along with the items you are returning, or e-mailing brollybucket directly to inform us.

On return of the goods to Brollybucket, we will email to confirm your hire has returned and confirm is any losses or charges are due. If charge are due, you will be informed and invoiced for the appropriate value.

9. Legal Notices

9.1  Hiring, and any other contractual agreements made with brollybucket, shall be governed and construed in accordance with Scots Law.

9.3  Other than expressly stated on the Order Confirmation Email issued by brollybucket, no warranty is implied or given concerning the hire or sale of items, nor their availability, including delays caused in transit to the event.

9.4  The Hirer shall indemnify brollybucket against any costs or claims arising from any personal injury or damage to, or loss of any property arising from or connected with the hire, use, mis-use, non-return or any other circumstance involving the items, in any way during the period of hire or subsequently.
