Small and Stylish : Intimate weddings are here to stay

Small and Stylish : Intimate weddings are here to stay

It's no secret that weddings have had a rough time recently, but we know (at least hope with all of our hearts) that the future is much brighter.

However, we’re also confident that small and intimate weddings are here to stay. By stripping it all back… what are we left with?

LOVE.

That’s all there is to it.

Your small wedding can still be beautiful, full of personality and from the heart – and if anything, the smaller the guest list, the more personal it is.

We recently collaborated on a wonderful shoot, which was featured over on Festival Brides which is just a perfect modern small gathering. From a killer sequin suit, to gourmet snack box favours – there no need to hold back when you go small.

As June from Junie Poonie Events quite rightly says on the blog post “This shoot, being small and intimate in terms of style and the team, has really filled the hearts of the creatives. I only hope that this shoot will allow couples to have a glimmer of hope, a trickle of light (and splash of sequins) that when they do get to have their SMALL-BIG-DAY … it can be all they ever hoped for and more”, and here at Brolly Bucket we couldn’t agree more.

"With realism at the forefront of this shoot, knowing that it can become nippy as the sun sets, yet not wanting to sacrifice on style; Brolly Bucket came up trumps with her Brolly & Blanket sets; ensuring that cosy and comfort were ready and waiting; whilst working tremendously with the overall style and feel" - Festival Brides

Remember, good things come in small packages – and when its just 30 (or 15!) of you, there’s no reason not to think big when you go small.

BrollyBucket Bride and Groom - Jen & James at Cornwell Manor

We are delighted when our gorgeous couples send in images of their big day - come rain or shine! Today, we are in for an absolute beauty from the fab Jonny Barratt, who has kindly shared images of the wonderful Jen and James with us.

They were married at the absolutely amazing Cornwell Manor and booked a handful of our fun and pastel, Party Season Packages with us, just in case the threat of rain clouds loomed!

Thankfully, Brollies were on hand for a brief shower just after their gorgeous ceremony in the Cornwell manor ballroom, which helped the bridal party and guests stay dry for their beautiful group shots in the grounds.

Later, their Papakata tent was the perfect setting for a wedding feast and emotional speeches, before moving back to the ballroom under the cover of their Brollies for a stunning first dance (that dip!).

With thanks to Jen, James and their photographer Jonny for the use of these images today - please make sure you scroll to the bottom of the post to check out the other amazing suppliers who made their wedding day so beautiful.

Brolly Bucket July Round-Up

Brolly Bucket July Round-Up

Wedding season is at its height and, after seeing our beautiful brollies, umbrella stands and accessories featured in some seriously gorgeous real weddings and industry events, we really do have wedding fever here at Brolly Bucket!

First up in our summer round-up is Abbi and Ash’s achingly cool festival-style wedding bash, which featured recently over on Rock My Wedding. Abbi is half of the Save the Date magazine team and we feel particularly honoured that a lady with so much industry experience chose our brollies for her big day - she clearly knows a thing or two! ;) The overall vibe was, in Abbi’s words, “boho luxe”, with an outdoor ceremony, tipis, hay bales, prosecco vans, endless flower crowns (13 bridesmaids, people! 13! Count them!) And did we mention the Moroccan rugs, festoon lighting, real ale and sparklers? And the coconut shy? And the doughnuts? You get the idea: this really was a wedding of epic inspiration proportions, and our white party umbrellas were part of it. Super proud Brolly Bucket moment!

Next up was the ultra-chic celebration of Georgia and Isaac at Loch Lomond, where the bride and groom went for a charming combination of tipis, katas and sperry tents to create their very own wedding wonderland. There was a fairy light walkway, greenery everywhere and huge floral arrangements to create a sense of a magical, riotous English Country Garden (or Scottish Country Garden, to be precise). This conscientious pair prepared for all eventualities and our willow umbrellas stands flanked every entrance to the tents and the way into the walled garden - nothing was going to dampen their guests’ high spirits!

And finally, at Papakata’s Spring Open Weekend at Escrick Park, York back in March, we helped show brides and grooms-to-be their styling options with our contribution to Natalie Hewitt’s Romantic Meadow brief. Rustic floral displays were suspended from the ceilings and covered the tables, combined with gorgeous earthy colours and plenty of luxe bohemian touches. Our blankets were the perfect addition to ensure visitors were cosy and comfortable while they quaffed cocktails, enjoyed canapes and talked all things wedding. A pretty perfect day in anyone’s book, we reckon - if you’re planning a wedding, definitely keep your eyes peeled for Papakata’s next event.
