Today I am thrilled to be able to share our new video from PV films with you and have taken the opportunity to introduce myself and the BrollyBucket studio properly! Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you will let me know what you think of the video at the end?
Launched in 2011 on the outskirts of Glasgow as a premier wedding and event umbrella hire service, BrollyBucket means a lot to me and so it is my pleasure to share it with you!
Starting at Art School, my creative passion first led me to the world of visual and retail merchandising. The relationship between my team and high street stores allowed me to create something spectacular from nothing. It was a joy to work with colour, aesthetics and creating a ‘feel’ for the store.
And then… I fell in love.
I married my lovely husband Alex in St Andrews, Fife in April 2010. The weather was not favourable (April certainly 'Showered' that year!) and I invested a lot of time and expense in purchasing lots and lots of umbrellas to use on the day!
Little did I know, but my wedding brollies would become in high demand for many friends and family weddings! This demand for 'borrowing' created the concept and idea behind our umbrella hire service and has grown to create the business I now proudly own.
As well as sourcing lots of wonderful white umbrellas for our wedding, I wanted to make the umbrellas a feature and use them as decor. As an artist, the form, colour and look of the umbrellas was very important to my day, and I really wanted them to add to the overall aesthetic of the day. I really wanted to use them to flank the archway leading in to the church both as a focal point and for ease of use by my guests.
So, I also searched for lovely, modern umbrella stands which would look bridal and elegant sitting at the entrance. However, after a long search, my hunt failed! I couldn't find anything I liked! So my creative side kicked in and I would not be defeated, so I designed my own umbrella stands...the 'BrollyBucket' was born!
My design was an elegant cylindrical umbrella stand which looked fabulous and my white umbrellas stood proudly inside, waiting to be used!
My new-found business had of course to be named after it's signature item, the 'BrollyBucket'
Based 20 minutes North of Glasgow is our brolly workshop, The Old Shed.
Formally a derelict lambing shed, The Old Shed has been lovingly renovated and is now home to our brolly business. We work from both here and our office a few miles away.
Our studio is where all brolly orders are prepared, packed and stored, ready for each event.
Our studio and workshop is also our creative hub and we love to invite other people to use our studio. We often host styled photoshoots in the studio and are always looking to collaborate and work alongside others in the industry.
Since the very first day, I have worked tirelessly to build a helpful, friendly business which serves an abundance of lovely weddings and events Nationwide.
My background in art has contributed to the colourful selection of brollies we now stock, and I just love to see them used as a styling 'feature' as well as beautiful weddings, and I love nothing more than supplying brollies to suspend from gorgeous tents, tipis and marquees! - The ideas are endless!
With every wedding order, I am honoured that BrollyBucket is chosen by the bride and groom (and their families!) to be part of their handpicked supplier line up.
My parents, husband and office-dog Flint are regular helpers, and love to get involved with every enquiry. I love packaging and sending umbrellas with a personal touch from our gorgeous rural workshop, whether the client is an intimate wedding or a grand event, and am also thrilled to have worked with a range of events, stylists, PR, TV, Theatre and Film productions all over the UK.
Thank you for your interest in BrollyBucket, I hope you enjoy the film below and find everything you are looking for and I look forward to working with you soon!
